American - Brooke - Medium - Young - Female - Rabbit for sale in Decatur, Alabama

American - Brooke - Medium - Young - Female - Rabbit
Bradley & Brooke are now neutered, spayed, and bonded as the sweetest couple! They are looking for a new place to stretch out and call their own. Being a couple, many things can be shared, of course, but newlywed couples need room, so space for two will be needed for these love-buns! They are learning litter box skills now and have improved. They are a sweet bun-couple grooming each other and full of play and love!. Both will need a large space to live in and run/exercise in the home, best with x-pens. We have info on these or how to build a grid-cage for a bun-pair. Please visit our site http://decaturbunnylady.blogspot.com.
Rabbit Adoption Policy
1. Primary Caregiver: The primary care giver must be the adult in all adoptions with an exotic (sees rabbits) vet already in mind for emergencies. We have determined that rabbits are best adopted to families with older children or no children, because of the energetic behavior of most children under 10 years old, which can often scare or injure a rabbit. This may be on a case-by-case basis depending on the family. The reason the bunnies are at the shelter is usually due to a child's rejection, so we avoid that happening again for the rabbit. Care must be given in handling rabbits in supporting the hind end to prevent them from kicking or struggling which can cause them to fall or break their own backs.
2. Indoor Housing: Rabbits adopted are indoor rabbits only, meaning they must be housed inside as part of the family as a small dog or cat would. Rabbits usually get along with the family cat, but it depends on the rabbit's personality whether it can handle a house dog. Some rabbits are very scared of dogs, some could care less, it just depends, as well as with the type of dog. It would be best to have the pets meet to make sure. Rabbits may have supervised outside access in a confined area, much like a small dog, for exercise and fresh air.
3. Easter Adoptions: DAS does NOT adopt out rabbits for use as props for Easter photos, or any Easter decorations, or as Easter gifts for children. Any exceptions to this must be made by either the Rabbit Coordinator or the Shelter Director on a case-by-case basis. However, we do continue to accept applications, conduct placement interviews, and educate adoption candidates about bunnies during holiday times.
